Pixqode Terms of Use
Effective 22 September 2026. These terms are the agreement between you and BeInMedia, the publisher of Pixqode: QR & Barcode Scanner, for the app on iOS and Android. By using the app you accept them. The Privacy Policy explains how data is handled. On the App Store, Apple's standard licensed application end user licence agreement (EULA) also applies.
1. The service
Pixqode reads QR codes and barcodes with your camera, shows you the full link and its domain before anything is opened, and keeps a history of your scans on your device. Links open in your device's own browser, not inside the app.
2. What is free, forever
Scanning is never locked behind a purchase. Free, with no trial and no time limit: unlimited QR and barcode scanning, the basic link check (full URL and domain, HTTPS, look-alike letters, shortener warning), copy and share, and your last 50 scans on your device.
3. Pixqode Pro: plans and prices
Pixqode Pro is optional. It adds the deep link check (where a shortened link really leads, the redirects on the way, and the site's reputation), unlimited history, folders and CSV export. There is no weekly plan and no free trial.

Prices include VAT or consumption tax where it applies. In every other country the price is the one the App Store or Google Play shows in local currency before you confirm.
The purchase screen shows the plan name, the price, the period, that it renews, and the date of the first charge above the buy button, before you confirm.
4. Renewal and billing
- Payment is charged to your Apple ID or Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Billing is handled entirely by Apple or Google; we never see your payment details.
- Pixqode Pro Monthly and Pixqode Pro Yearly renew automatically at the same price for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. The renewal is charged within the 24 hours before the period ends.
- If a price ever goes up, the store tells you in advance and, where the law or the store requires it, asks for your agreement before the new price applies.
- Pixqode Pro Lifetime is a one-time purchase. It does not renew and is never charged again.
- You can restore purchases on a new device from Settings → Subscription → Restore purchases.
5. How to cancel
Cancel at any time; Pro stays active until the end of the period you have already paid for.
- In the app: Settings → Subscription → Manage subscription. It takes two taps and opens the store's own page.
- iPhone and iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions, or apps.apple.com/account/subscriptions.
- Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions, or play.google.com/store/account/subscriptions.
Deleting the app, deleting your data or deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it in the store as above.
6. Refunds
Refunds are decided by the store under its own rules: Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com, Google Play through your order history. The Subscription screen in the app links to both. Statutory rights you have as a consumer, including in the EU, are not affected. By starting Pro you ask for it to be provided immediately, which under EU law can end the 14-day right of withdrawal for digital content once it has been provided; the store's refund route stays open.
7. Link warnings reduce risk; they are not a guarantee
Link warnings reduce risk; they are not a guarantee. The basic check and the Pro deep link check look for known warning signs, but a link Pixqode shows as clear can still be harmful, and a link it warns about can be harmless. A reputation check is only as current as the list behind it. Nothing in the app is a security audit or a promise that a website is safe. Always decide yourself before opening a link, entering a password or paying.
8. Product information
Product information for a barcode comes from Open Food Facts, a public database edited by volunteers. It may be incomplete or wrong. Pixqode gives no health, nutrition, medical or financial advice, and product information is not a statement by us about any product.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use Pixqode to break the law, to attack or overload our service or the deep link check, to copy or resell the service, or to reverse-engineer it beyond what the law allows. We may limit the deep link check if it is being used automatically or in bulk.
10. Liability
The free features are provided as they are. We are liable without limitation for intent and gross negligence and for injury to life, body or health, and as mandatory law requires. Otherwise, for slight negligence, we are liable only for breach of an essential obligation and only up to the damage that was foreseeable when you bought Pro. Nothing here limits rights that consumer law in your country does not allow to be limited.
11. Changes and termination
We may change these terms for a valid reason such as a new feature or a change in law, and we tell you in the app before a change that affects you takes effect. If you do not agree, stop using the app and cancel Pro. You may stop using Pixqode at any time.
